How Much Does a Wedding Planner Cost in the Netherlands?
How much does a wedding planner cost in the Netherlands? It is one of the first questions couples ask me, and one of the hardest to find an honest answer to online. So let me do the opposite and talk openly about what wedding planning actually costs here, what drives the price, and, just as importantly, what you are really paying for.
Fair warning: there is no single number. A wedding planner is not one service, it is several, and the right one for you depends on how much help you want, your budget and the kind of wedding you are creating. If you would like the bigger picture first, start with our guide to planning a wedding in the Netherlands as an international couple.

The three levels of wedding planner cost in the Netherlands
Most planners in the Netherlands offer three broad levels of service, and the price follows the amount of work involved.
Wedding day coordination is the lightest option. Your planner steps in during the final weeks to finalise the timeline, brief your vendors and run the day itself, so you are not the one answering phone calls on the morning of your wedding. In the Netherlands this typically costs somewhere around eight hundred to fifteen hundred euros.
Partial planning suits couples who want to do much of the planning themselves but bring in professional guidance for parts of it. This usually falls somewhere between fifteen hundred and thirty five hundred euros, depending on how much is included.
Full planning and design is the complete service, from the first creative concept to the last dance. Your planner shapes the vision, sets the budget, sources and manages every vendor, handles the design, and coordinates the entire day. Because it covers the whole journey, it sits at the top of the range. As a guide, the full planning and design service that I offer at Something Blue generally starts from around four to six thousand euros, and for a complete service that includes the design and coordination on the day, it is often in the region of fifteen to twenty percent of your total wedding budget.
What actually drives the price
Two full planning weddings can be quoted very differently, and it usually comes down to a handful of things: the scale and guest count of your wedding; whether it is local or a destination wedding that involves travel and coordination from afar; if the venue is a wedding venue with staff & venue manager or just a garden / terrain with no venue management, the level of design and styling you want, since a fully art directed wedding takes far more creative work than a simple one; the number of vendors to source and manage; and whether your celebration runs across one day or several. The more moving parts, and the more design involved, the more of your planner's time and expertise the wedding asks for.

What you are actually paying for
It is easy to see a planning fee as just another line in the budget. In practice, a good planner often pays for a large part of their own fee, and here is how.
We save you money where it is invisible, by knowing which vendors are worth their price, negotiating on your behalf, and steering you away from the costly mistakes couples make when they are doing this for the first time. We save you time, often dozens and dozens of hours you would otherwise spend researching, emailing and chasing, time you could spend enjoying being engaged. And we carry the stress, the logistics, the problem solving and the quiet fixing of things on the day, so you never see the small crises that every wedding produces.
With a studio that leads with design, there is one more thing you are paying for, and it is the one that lasts: a wedding that feels like a single, coherent, deeply personal story rather than a collection of nice but disconnected choices.
So, is a wedding planner worth it?
Honestly, it depends on your wedding. If you are having a small, simple celebration and you enjoy organising, you may be perfectly happy with light coordination, or none at all. But if you are planning something with real scope, marrying far from home, bringing guests and cultures together, or you simply want the day to be beautifully designed and genuinely free of stress, then full planning earns its place many times over.
The couples who value it most are the ones who see their wedding as an experience worth investing in, and who would rather spend their engagement excited than exhausted.

How we approach pricing at Something Blue
We do not sell fixed packages off a shelf, because no two weddings we design are the same. Every wedding is quoted individually, based on your vision, your scale and how much of the journey you would like me to hold. As a guide, our full planning, design and on the day coordination service tends to represent around fifteen to twenty percent of your overall wedding budget, and I will always be clear and upfront with you before anything is agreed.
What I can promise is that the investment buys a genuinely bespoke experience, led by design, and a wedding that could only ever be yours.
If a thoughtfully designed, fully planned wedding is what you are dreaming of, I would love to hear about it. Get in touch to arrange a discovery call, and we will talk openly about your vision, your budget and how I can bring it to life.
